Interpretation Of Tongues

This sermon looks at one of the most misunderstood gifts of the Holy Spirit: the interpretation of tongues. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 12 and 14, we see that this gift functions like a conductor bringing order to an orchestra's pre-concert ... "tune-up" - what sounds like noise and chaos at the start - is transformed into a beautiful, and understandable melody. Without interpretation, we're just like that orchestra tuning up. Sound, but no song. Beautiful, but not understood. When someone speaks publicly in tongues, interpretation transforms what is hidden into something clear that builds up the entire church. Tongues plus interpretation has the same effect as prophecy.
