Love Feast Sunday
We see that Love (Agape) Feasts were celebrated in the early Christian Church (Jude 1:12; Acts 2:46). The New Testament talks about these fellowship meals - as - distinct from the celebrating of the ordinance of Communion. Where today we may refer to these as "pot-lucks" or "share-a-meal" - Hope Church celebrated today both a Communion Meal and a Love Feast Meal - in remembrance of what Jesus Christ taught! As Christ dined with His disciples at the last supper - "and after supper had ended" He took the cup and bread - symbolic of His body broken and His blood shed (for the forgiveness of our sins) ... He said to do likewise - whenever we partake of it - "in remembrance of Him". He also taught us at the love feast (the Passover Meal) - as He washed His disciples feet - to serve each other with love. Agape love. That love (His Agape Love) was witnessed today!
"Jesus has no other hands - but our own - no other heart to share His love from - but ours"
